Fishermen can find plenty of action along the Lake Michigan shore

The Lake Michigan shore in Milwaukee is cloaked in a dingy, gray light, the type that keeps secrets well. At the moment that includes the location of my fishing partner, Eric Haataja of West Allis.

We're working the edge of a rusty sea wall along the lakefront, the water below us kept free of ice by current. The sky periodically delivers gifts of silver dollar-sized snowflakes and insults of freezing drizzle.
