Demons Dominate at SCTP State Shoot The Burlington High School Demons Shooting Team once again came out on top of the Wisconsin Scholastic Clay Target Program (SCTP) State Trap Shoot by taking first place in four of the five age categories at the annual event held on Saturday June 16th at the Waukesha Gun Club.

Demons shooters took eight of the top sixteen places in the Varsity category all breaking 96 or more targets with Ethan Kerr (97) along with Jordan Hintz (96) and Cody Schilz (96) near the top of leaderboard out of the 170 Varsity participants.
Not to be outdone, the Junior Varsity team of Alexa McCarthy (98),
Clayton Deford (96), Nolan Schenning (93), Melanie Uhlenhake (91) and Daniel Santos (90) tallied 468 to easily take the first place award over runner up Fond du Lac by twenty-three targets and Daniel Boone by thirty-three.

The Golden Beavers of Beaver Dam took the top spot in Intermediate Entry with a 429 over Waterford?s 404 and Marquette?s 392. Gavin Clayton was the Demons top shooter with an 80.
The future of the Demons team is bright as the rookie squad of John Kubiak (61), William McCarthy (57), Courtney Uhlenhake (56), Wyatt Wilken (53) and Kalvin Johnson (53) broke 280 targets topping Central and Wilmot?s Rookie squads.

Alexa McCarthy?s personal best of 98 earned her the Ladies champion award. Clayton Deford brought home third place in Junior Varsity for his 96 along with Cody McCarthy who won second in the Intermediate Advanced category for his 96.
Over the next two weeks, the Demons will participate in several other SCTP State events including Sporting Clays, Wobble Trap and Skeet as it prepares for the upcoming SCTP Nationals held next month in Sparta, IL., where the Demons Varsity team is hoping to repeat as National Champions for the second consecutive year as well as the SCTP International Championships held in Colorado Springs in August where the Demons are reigning Double Trap champions.
