Chippewa Flowage fishing report 5.5.10

Weather report

Sounds like a little bit of a mixed bag with a lot of ups and downs.
Fri is not going to be a very nice day--chilly and wet.  Thurs and Sat sound ok--around 60 and dry.

Water level

The lake is still a little over two feet down. It would help if we could
get some rain but once again, the last two weather systems missed us.

Water temperature

Still generally in the upper 50's but that may suffer a little in the
next couple days before the next warm up.

Walleye Challenge
Don't forget that this weekend is the Treeland Walleye Challenge.
As of this morning I think they still had a couple of openings.

Walleye:
Walleye fishing continues to be ok, and the best action still sounds
like it's on minnows in 17 ft or so.

Crappie:
A lot of crappie catches in the shallow bays on minnows.  With the lake being down it makes some of those bays a little more of a challenge.  I hope the weather doesn't push them back out.

Panfish:
Not too much going on yet--still a little too chilly, but you can always find some around the weeds.
