The Alltel Center in Mankato will be the site of the 14th Annual Southern Minnesota Home and Builder Show, Friday through Sunday, April 4-6, with a wide array of vendors and exhibitors, as well as demonstrations and seminars offering information on the latest in home remodeling and building. The Quarry Hill Nature Center in Rochester will offer a Birding Field Trip on Saturday, April 5 at 9:00 a.m. Join Joyce and Terry Grier in front of the nature center to look for American robins and other early migratory species. The field trip is open to the public and binoculars are available to use at the Nature Center. Also on April 5, toddlers will enjoy Robins & Rainy Days, with programs at 9:30 a.m. and 11:00 a.m. This class includes story time, art experience, and outdoor explorations. And on Sunday, April 6 at 1:30 p.m., the Quarry Hill Nature Center will offer Bird Sunday-Gentle Juncos, with bird walks, and possibly a chance to experience trapping, netting and releasing birds. The Minnesota Alpaca Expo will be held Saturday and Sunday, April 5 & 6, at the Four Seasons Center in Owatonna. Visitors will have a chance to interact with roughly 500 Alpacas from across the United States, and enjoy children’s activities, displays, vendor booths, a silent auction, and seminars on topics such as Alpaca care and fiber preparation.
