Tentative spring turkey permit allotments announced
Lakeland area zones could be allowed 1,320 more tags than last season

While winter has just begun and many people are starting to take advantage of ice fishing opportunities, Northwoods turkey hunters may be gearing up for a good harvest this spring.
The Department of Natural Resources' Turkey Committee has made preliminary estimates of turkey numbers based on last season's harvest.
The committee has made tentative estimates on the total number of permits that will be available for each zone - and with turkey populations increasing in the Northwoods, as many as 1,320 more permits may be available in Zones 45, 43 and 41.
