Demon Trapshooters Branch Out in SCTP Championships

After competing in trapshooting events for the first five years since the team began Scholastic Clays Target Program (SCTP) competition in 2005, the BHS Demons Trapshooting team added a skeet team to compete in the state and national tournaments in 2010.   The Burlington team has expanded its horizons even further in 2011 by participating in American trap, Skeet and Sporting Clays WI SCTP State Championships. On June 20th the Demons added more hardware taking the Varsity and Intermediate Entry gold medals and Junior Varsity bronze in the second annual WI SCTP Skeet State Championships held at the Waukesha Gun Club. Burlington was led by Jordan Hintz breaking 89 of 100 targets and was joined on the podium by Ethan Kerr (87) and Sam Kafura (83) for a team score of 259 besting the Waukesha Gun Club team by just two targets for the gold. Racine Lutheran brought home the bronze.
