Butterflies of Wisconsin
Horicon Marsh Education and Visitor Center welcomes Ann Thering for a special summer presentation. Ann will be visiting us on Wednesday, July 10th, at 7:00pm. She will be giv-ing a presentation on, ?Butterflies of Wisconsin?.
Ann lives in Madison and travels throughout Wisconsin to photograph butterflies and oth-er insects. She is a founding member of the Wisconsin chapter of the North American But-terfly Association. Her presentation will include her beautiful images of butterflies along with the information needed to help you become more aware of what they need to survive and how to better at recognize these brilliantly colored insects.
Ann Thering?s award-winning photography will also be on display at Horicon Marsh Education and Visitor Center from July 10th until August 28th. Her photog-raphy features insects you will want to take a closer look at. Her artful bugs include every-thing from exquisite green butterflies to curious spiders. She captures the magical bits of insects that makes them so amazing to look at. Many insects go unnoticed, such as the tiny blue butterflies found in early spring or the white and sparkly gold butterflies found only in dry barrens habitats.
Everyone is invited to come and learn about all the beautiful insects in your own back-yard! All presentations are free and open to the public. The Horicon Marsh Education and Visitor Center is located between the towns of Horicon and Mayville on Highway 28. This presentation will be in the auditorium near the lower entrance. Sponsored by the Friends of Horicon Marsh International Education Center. For a detailed list of all special events please visit the Friends website at www.horiconmarsh.org.~
