Bald eagles are migrating back to Minnesota in large numbers due to the mild winter. Good overlooks and viewing spots for both over-wintering and migrating eagles can be found along the Mississippi River in Wabasha County. And while in the area, be sure to visit the National Eagle Center in the city of Wabasha.

Turn right and travel about two and a half miles to the curve in the road, checking here.

Karen Kalin-Horge had a Varied Thrush visit her yard in Halstad, Norman County, on March 17th.

Recent spring arrivals now include Great Egret, Pied-Billed Grebe, Osprey, Short-Eared Owl, Yellow-Rumped Warbler, Swamp Sparrow, and Vesper Sparrow.
