Learn how these energetic creatures are adapted to life in the trees. This hour of nature fun awaits 3- to 6-year-olds with accompanying adults. Ice Age Visitor Center. 9:30-10:30 a.m.

? Big Foot Beach State Park, Lake Geneva, (262) 348-2420 - Snowshoeing. Join the staff from Clearwater Outdoors for some winter fun at the park! The group will explore the park on snowshoes for about 2 hours. Snowshoes can be rented from Clearwater Outdoors if needed. Meet at the picnic shelter near the playground. 8-10 a.m.
? Browntown-Cadiz Springs State Recreation Area, Browntown, (608) 558-2289 - Snowshoe Walk and Wine Tasting. Sample the best wines from Brennan?s Country Farm Market, enjoy the beautiful wooded hills of the state recreation area, and get some winter exercise. There will be snacks and a campfire at the end. The registration fee is $20 per person, with kids 15 and under free. Proceeds from the day will be used to help buy new playground equipment for the park. Snow shoes are optional. If there is no snow we will have a winter hike instead. Sponsored by Friends Of Cadiz Springs State Recreation Area. Noon.

Join us for nature activities, games, crafts, food, and lots of fun indoors and out. This event is for people of all ages. 10 a.m. - 4 p.m. No vehicle admission sticker rquired.

? Peninsula State Park, Fish Creek, (920) 868-3258 - Furry Tails. 11 - 11:30 a.m. Nature Center. Discover facts about common Peninsula mammals then take a short walk to "read" their stories in the snow (tracks and signs).
? Richard Bong State Recreation Area, Kansasville, (262) 878-5600 - Pines and Needles. Pines and other evergreens are a bit of color in the winter world. Discover why and how they stay green and why they are so important. Dress for hiking, we?ll go outside to identify some local evergreens. Sponsored by Bong Naturalist Association [exit DNR]. ? Whitefish Dunes State Park, Sturgeon Bay, (920) 823-2400 - Making Tracks. Discover what the Door County animals? footprints look like. You can pretend animals walked all over you by creating wearable work of art. Bring a 100 percent cotton item or purchase some here to print. Drop in between 10 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. to participate in this great hands-on nature event. Printing cost $5 and shirt/bag additional $5. Free track booklet available. The Friends of Copper Falls State Park will be hosting first-time ski skating lessons at the park from 1 - 4 p.m. If one does not own skate skis, skis are available for rent for $10 for the session.
