Minoqua Area Fishing Report 3.9.10

The front that was forecasted last weekend never arrived.. Just lots of sunshine. But anglers still had success, just in smaller windows.

Crappies: Good-Very Good.
Anglers finding the best bite at dusk on tip-downs with minnows. During the day plastics and strips of Chena slow dropped enticing some action. Work the bays with 8-12' cabbage, deep mud, gravel zones of 18-28' holding big crappies in scattered schools. Rosies best on these deep fish.

Yellow Perch: Good-Very Good.
Deep mud flats producing best with anglers dropping pimples, flickers, halies and foraye minnow jigs tipped with wigglers or red spikes. With warming temps look for some better shallow action in weeds using medium fatheads on tip downs or waxies on vingla spoons.

Bluegills: Good. Warm temps increasing activity. Nice gills to 9-1/2' on moussees or waxies tipped on bright #10 teardrops of chartruse, orange, bright green.

White Fish: Good. Anglers continue to have good success in 60 - 70' debths with #4 pimples and waxies.

Hopefully we will have such nice weather come opener. With temps hitting the 50's, snow cover is diminishing fast. This years ice thickness not being what it usually is (18-24" usually 30-36") don't wait to long to plan your late ice pan fishing trips, late March/early April could be it at this rate.
