I would like to take a minute and give some people an update on one of our trapshooters that graduated last year......
Jon Ebbers (who shot for the Burlington High School Demons Trap Team), accepted a scholarship last year to attend and compete for Lindenwood University in St. Charles Mo.
Lindenwood University is the 5 time National Trap Shooting collegiate champions and is the leader amongst college target shooting teams!
Jon was the ATA's 2 time Wisconsin State Junior champion (2008-2009) and was on the SCTP's 3rd place team in the High School division last year (2009) and on the 2nd place Nationals team in 2006.
Due to his hard work and shoot in any weather attitude, Jon has made Lindenwoods 1st team in Trap and will be competing/representing Lindenwood University at the Spring Grand American in Tucson, Arizona......as a Freshman!! He has also been contacted by the International Trap coach of Lindenwood University, as they want him to start competing in that field as well!
What a great honor and accomplishment for Jon, not only in representing his high school team in Burlington but also in representing Wisconsin...... we are all very proud of him!
Since this all has happened, we would also like to announce the newly formed Southeastern Wisconsin SCTP Trap Shooting Conference!
Schools with Trap Shooting teams already in place like Burlington, Wilmot and Delavan/Darien will be competing in a conference with newly formed teams from Union Grove & Racine Lutheran. There is a tremendous amount of interest from some other local High Schools such as Westosha Central and Lake Geneva Badger and we hope to get them involved yet this year!
