Black Bear; is this one the Incredible Hulk?

A little background is needed for this story....
We have a 40 acre camp in northern Chippewa County and for many years we have let several friends and family bait and hunt for Black Bear in the off years when we do not get a tag.

Most years the bait is all used up and there is never any left from the previous year. This year was different, a friend of mine hunted this last year and purchased a whole lot of bait... mostly cookie scraps. They were stored in 4 55 gallon drums next to my garage.

This should not have been a problem, the barrels were latched in place with a cinch. I'm sure most be people are familiar with these latches. There are times when I have a hard time just getting them open myself.

We have a Black Bear that is very persistent and is determined to get in these barrels. These latches are very strong, I can not bend them myself, they a very stout.

He has opened two barrels so far and is working on a third. I am not sure what my next step will be. He is rolling them all over the place, it looks like he is taking this personal, it must be the challenge.

I'm certainly not going to put the barrels in my garage... can you imagine what he would do to the garage?
