McGee truly enjoyed being the life of the party
Fans, friends have fond memories


The restaurant was where its owner, former Green Bay Packers great Max McGee, would hold court on many a morning with a close group of friends. But McGee would just as often engage a stranger with a smile, or a tale from his playing days.

That's why on the morning after McGee passed away after a fall from his roof at his home in Deephaven, Minn., at the age of 75, scores of people flocked to the restaurant, according to one employee. Some stories were told and tears were shed.
