? Fox River State Trail, Green Bay, (920) 606-6854 or e-mail ? Buckthorn Removal. The Brown County Parks Department along with assistance from Janet Smith is organizing a buckthorn removal project along the Fox River Trail corridor in the city of Green Bay. Buckthorn is an invasive shrub to small tree and has created dense thickets along the trail corridor. Meet at the Brown County trailhead, at the intersection of Porlier Street and Adams Street, near the kiosk. Parking is available on Adams Street. Volunteers are encouraged to bring loppers along. Volunteers will be required to sign and understand the Brown County volunteer waiver prior to work. The Brown County Conservation Alliance has graciously agreed to provide beverages and a snack for all participants. 1-3:30 p.m.
? Kettle Moraine State Forest?Northern Unit, Campbellsport, (920) 533-8322 or e-mail - Exploring Nature: Whitetails. Autumn is a great time of year to look for signs of whitetail deer. We will explore a deer's territory to uncover the secrets of these magnificent animals. This program is best for families/groups with children between the ages of 6 and 12 years. Ice Age Visitor Center. 9:30-11 a.m.

We'll have several animals out for you to watch, touch, and find out all of the cool stuff they do. Just drop in to participate in the fun. 9 a.m. - noon. No admission sticker required.
? Richard Bong State Recreation Area, Kansasville, (262) 878-5600 - Search for Short-eared Owls. We are lucky to have rare short-eared owls visit.Discover more about these grassland birds. We will also drive in search of them. Visitor Center. 3:30-4:30 p.m.

Come ready to be surprised by some very strange rocks. This program is for preschoolers, ages 3-5, and their parents, grandparents, or other adult, not for day care centers or organizations. 9:30-10:30 a.m. No admission sticker required.
