?   Kettle Moraine State Forest--Northern Unit, Campbellsport, (920) 533-8322 - Nature Storytime: Golden Treasures...Pumpkins. It wouldn't be autumn without those big golden orange pumpkins lying ripe in the fields. Discover why they are treasures for people and wildlife. This hour of nature fun awaits 3 to 6-year-olds with accompanying adults. Ice Age Visitor Center. 9:30-10:30 a.m. Halloween Nature Hikes. Beware! The animals of the forest are talking and do they have some tales to tell. Join us for a fun-filled stroll through the dark autumn woods to meet some fascinating characters, including a whitetail deer, beaver, spotted salamander, and the Duo of Darkness. This is not a scary hike and is appropriate for those over 5 years of age. While waiting for your hike, play some fun-filled games, make a craft to take home, or snack by the glow of a campfire. Sponsored by Friends of the Kettle Moraine. Long Lake Recreation Area. 6:30-9:30 p.m. Groups leave every 6 minutes. Each hike lasts about one hour. The last hike leaves at 8:30 pm.

?   Havenwoods State Forest, Milwaukee, (414) 527-0232 - One Wild Saturday Morning Drop-in: Bats. Bats are one of nature's misunderstood creatures. Drop in and find out what bats live in Wisconsin, dispel some bat myths, make a bat to take home, and much more! You and your family or youth group can drop in between 9 a.m. and noon to discover cool things about nature through hands-on activities, experiments, crafts, games, and picture books.

?   Lake Kegonsa State Park, Stoughton, (608) 873-9695 -Candlelight Hike. Enjoy a brisk autumn evening hike along the 1.2 mile White Oak Nature Trail, which will be lit with hundreds of glowing jack o' lanterns. When you are finished, warm up by the bonfire and enjoy refreshments sold by the Lake Kegonsa State Park Friends Group. There is no fee for this event, but a valid park admission sticker is required. Sorry, no pets are allowed on the Nature Trail. 6 - 9 p.m.
?   Roche-A-Cri State Park, Friendship, (608) 565-2789 - Pumpkin Walk and Halloween Fun. Roche-A-Cri State Park will host a variety of Halloween activities beginning at 3 p.m. including a walk around the 1-mile pumpkin lit mound road. Games 3-4:30 p.m. Naturalist Janna Misener will give a presentation at 4:30 p.m. Build a scarecrow for $10. Non-Haunted Hay Rides 3:30-5:30 p.m. ($2 per person). Haunted Hay Rides 6-9 p.m. ($3 per person). Last tickets sold at 9 p.m. Games and face painting are free. Food and drink concession available. Free admission. Park and ride the free shuttle bus from the corner of Hwy 13 and Czech Ave. Sponsored by Friends of Roche-A-Cri. Office picnic area. 3-9 p.m.

Find out more about mushrooms and why they are important. This program is for preschoolers, ages 3-5, and their parents, grandparents, or other adult, not for day care centers or organizations. 9:30-10:30 a.m.
