Population outlook good for panfishing

Anglers can look forward to another good year of ice fishing, but just like during the summer, the weather will have a significant impact on catching fish.
“We’ve done extensive surveying of fish populations in the area,” said Ron Benjamin, Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources Mississippi River fisheries supervisor in La Crosse. “Bluegill populations should be as good as last year, but the fish may be a little smaller.”
