WDNR wants to avoid license fee boosts, stop collecting dead deer

The price of hunting and fishing licenses isn't expected to go up, but how dead deer will be picked up from the side of the road is another matter.
The Department of Natural Resources has no plans to increase fees for hunting and fishing licenses over the next two years, despite a growing state budget deficit.
But in making cuts to address the deficit, the seven-member Natural Resources Board agreed Wednesday to eliminate a program that pays vendors to remove deer from state roadways.
