Fishing on the FlambeauI had a chance to get the family out on a float trip down the Flambeau this last weekend, and what a great trip it was. We floated the lower Flambeau from the Thornaple Dam down to the landing above Flaters Resort.
I really did not expect to catch that many fish, it was a last minute decision to go and I should have been better prepared. We did not think to bring a net at all, and that was a big mistake.
We only got one smally in the boat but we had at least a dozen fish up to the boat and a couple of big ones on that we could not tell what they were but they were big! Those Small Mouth really do fight!
What a great time we had, it was one of the most fun float trips that I have ever taken...
