Title: Minocqua area fishing report 11.2.09
Post by: mudbrook on October 21, 2009, 08:26:24 AM
Super swings in the barometer and sudden drop in temps on Friday didn't seem to help (though duck hunters loved Saturday morning) but water temps had stabilized, even risin a bit by weeks end (Trout 45*, Minocqua 44*).  This coming week should see a continued drop with highs Tuesday to Thursday on in mid 30's.

Musky:  Fair to Good.  Some sucker action but not as much as the previous week.  Should pick up as we close in on Cisco spawns.

Walleyes:  Fair.  Deep water action still best nice fish to 27" last week from 50' depths on redtails on 3/8 - 1/2 oz jig.

Pike:  Fair.  Same as in the past weeks.  Taking smaller musky suckers, large pike suckers and 7" twitch baits.

Smallmouth:  Actually found some deep (35-40') fish relating to hard bottom (gravel, sand) taking large chubs meant for walleyes.  Bring up slow due to depth for healthy release of fish 18-20".

Reports will remain quiet with lack of anglers.  Will keep tabs on water temps for first ice anglers.  Deer starting rut.
