Oct. 14-17 Antlerless Gun Season in Herd Control & CWD Deer Management UnitsA gun deer season will be in effect from Thursday, Oct. 14 through Sunday, Oct. 17 in 2010 deer management units that are designated "Herd Control" or "CWD." During this hunt, gun and archery deer hunters may only harvest, tag and register antlerless deer from Herd Control or CWD units. All gun, archery, small game, and turkey hunters must follow blaze orange requirements if they are hunting within a Herd Control or CWD unit between October 14-17. State park properties located within Herd Control units will not allow deer hunting between Oct. 14-17.
Archery deer hunters who will be hunting in any "Regular" deer management unit may harvest bucks and are not required to wear blaze orange between Oct. 14-17.
