Chippewa Flowage Fishing report 8.18.11
Weather report

Weather report

Pretty nice weekend coming up. Scattered rain on Friday with weekend
temps in the mid 70's.

Water temperature

Cooler nights have dropped temperatures into the low 70's.

Water level

An end to the rain has let the lake fall to a little less than a foot
down--1312.1.

Walleye:
I know they're out there!  Leechs are just about done for the year and the water is still too warm for minnows so go after them with
nitecrawlers. Stick with the mid depth brush---14-18 ft.

Muskie:
REALLY up and down--not just on the Flowage, but everywhere.  Still a surface bait and bucktail time of year.

Crappie:

They're a little scattered at all depths but bogs and cribs are still
best.  Gulp 1 minnows have been popular.

Panfish:

Waxies and worms fished anywhere will get you bluegills but fish  10-15 ft for the bigger ones.

Bass:

Smallmouth are still pretty active on the east side on
crawlers.<BR>White spinnerbaits with white blades have been good for largemouth.
