Wisconsin Statewide Birding Report 2.18.11

Waterfowl are getting frisky with longer days triggering increased hormones.  There has not been much reported yet in terms of spring migration birders should expect to see some influx of new birds with the warm weather and lack of snow.  Sandhill cranes should start showing up soon. Birds heard singing recently include tufted titmouse, house finch, cardinal, white-breasted nuthatch, mallards, Canada goose, great-horned owl, common goldeneye, and common merganser.
