Just One Week Remains in High School Trapshooting Nine down and one to go... The thirteen teams of the Southeast Wisconsin SCTP Trapshooting Conference have hit the homestretch of the 2013 season with Burlington and Wilmot with one loss each atop the standings with Jefferson and Badger just one match behind.
Top score of the week belongs to Milwaukee Marquette who snuck past Jefferson 123-122. Drake Harris, James Mccroy and Jack Reesman all were perfect for the Hilltoppers who moved north of .500 on the season. Cole Mewis notched his fifth 25 of the year and Dustin Beckman was also clean for the Eagles who are now 7-2.
Burlington?s Josh Grisham and Christian Jensen broke all 25 to lead the Demons over Racine Lutheran 122-112 to stay on top of the standings. Daniel Roeder was perfect for the Crusaders.
Westosha Central snuck past Oconomowoc 117 to 114. Scott Blume and Jake Weis each broke 24 to pace the Falcons while Spencer Hellekson and Jacob Oswald led the Cooney with 24?s.
Lake Geneva Badger blasted 119 targets to win over the virtual score of 115. Marc Hughes and Brendan Goethal were clean for the Badgers.
Waterford fell to the virtual score of 116. Hunter Swan led the Wolverines with 24 who posted a 108-team score.
Union Grove carded a 107 to fall to the virtual score of 116. Ben Sands and Patryck Sandoval led the Broncos with 22 each.
Muskego hit the century mark to also fall to the virtual score of 117. Ryan Kopp broke 23 to lead the Warriors.
Wilmot posted a great score of 122 led by John McCrae and Tyler Kuhn in their match with Cudahy. The Packers scores were not available and will be updated next week.
Winners in Junior Varsity were Burlington, Milwaukee Lutheran, Union Grove, Marquette and Central. Wilmot?s Jacob Borkowitz, Marquette?s Henry Kurtzweil, Central?s Mariano Ruffolo, Nathan Miller and Jaret Schroeder all broke 24 in JV. Wilmot?s Anthony Sandberg and Burlington?s Cody McCarthy led the intermediates with 24 apiece.
Only one week remains in the regular season before the SCWI SCTP Conference Shoot on May 31st and June 1st at the Waukesha Gun Club.

The Mission of the SEWI SCTP Conference is to instill in young people a respect for good sportsmanship, competitiveness, cooperation, teamwork, and high moral character through trapshooting competition.
The SE Wisconsin SCTP Conference was formed to create in young people a set of personal values and character traits such as fair play, compassionate understanding, individual responsibility, self-discipline, and personal commitment - qualities necessary to become successful and contributing members of society.
Competition is an important part of the Conference, but it is not the program?s underlying principle. The ?win-at-all-costs? philosophy has no place in the Conference. Striving to win while playing by the rules does. It is the DUTY of everyone involved - coaches, parents and participants - to be role models for team members to emulate, by upholding high moral and ethical standards of personal conduct.
Our Conference embraces and upholds all the rules, guidelines and standards of conduct; which are listed in the Scholastic Shooting Sports Foundation?s SCTP Handbook, Coaches Guidelines, and its Sportsmanship Contract.
The safe responsible handling and use of firearms is the foundation of our organization. We believe that trapshooting is a lifetime sport that families can enjoy together and our Conference can bring communities together through interscholastic competition.
