Explore Minnesota Birding Report UPDATE as of December 17

On Saturday, December 15, Bruce Fall found a third state record ROSS'S GULL on the ice of the Mississippi River in St. Paul at Hardman and Grand Avenues. The original location was about one-half mile north of the pedestrian overpass. In the late morning, the gull flew upriver about half a mile, but returned in the early afternoon. It then flew south but was rediscovered just before dusk roughly one-half mile south of the I-494 bridge, where it remained until dark.
