Zoey's first Bird and retrieve
Zoey is an 8 month old Springer Spaniel. We had the Wisconsin Grouse opener this weekend and Zoey had her first find and retrieve.

First Pheasant for Zoey
We went to the Rock Ridge Hunt Club... http://www.rockridgehuntclub.com/ ... located between Bloomer and New Auburn Wi. to get Zoey her first Pheasant. A big thank you to Wade Latz for setting up the hunt for us.

A Limit of Woodcock for Zoey
It never fails that while hunting pheasants at the local public hunting grounds I happen onto woodcock. Of course the only shells I have along are pheasant loads and I have to pass on my favorite bird.
This time it was different, I remembered to bring woodcock loads with me and I had a hunt to remember. We moved scores of birds and had our limit in short time. I went back to the same spot the next day and not a bird was found, the flight had moved on.
