Moorhead-area deer hunters should verify hunting locations (October 31,
2007)

Deer hunters using firearms in the Moorhead area need to verify their
hunting locations before going out in the field Nov. 3 because of an
error in the 2007 Hunting Regulations Handbook, according to the
Minnesota Department of Natural Resources.

The rifle-shotgun boundary now includes all of Clay County west of
Minnesota Highway 32. From the western boundary of the state, the
rifle-shotgun boundary follows the northern boundary of Clay County east
to Minnesota Highway 32, then south to Minnesota Highway 34 then west to
Interstate 94.

The boundary is mislabeled on the back of the fold-out deer season map
and on page 77 of the regulations handbook. Hunters in this area should
verify their locations before to taking the field to ensure they are
within the rifle-shotgun boundary.
