Wisconsin Working Stock Dog Association Sheep Dog Trial

The Wisconsin Working Stock Dog Association will hold their
26th Annual Sheep Dog Trial on September  2-5, 2011.  The trial will
take place at the McLeish Farm, N5085 Hwy 78 in Portage, Wisconsin.  The farm is 3 miles south of Petro towards Merrimac  (Exit 108A off I 90/94 from Madison).

The Labor Day weekend trial will include classes for all levels of
sheepdog working ability. With only whistle and voice commands, these amazing border collies can gather sheep from over 500 yards away.

Spectators will see a wide range of work from the energetic purposeful outrun and authoritative gather of the sheep at the top of the field to the drama and finesse of the pen and shed where the slightest movement can be critical.  An announcer will be on hand to explain the trial course and the actions of the dogs and handlers and sheep throughout the weekend.

Come and watch these wonderful dogs and their handlers.  The venue at the McLeish Farm is beautiful and scenic, with plenty of room to place your chair. Snacks and lunch will be available.

A $5 entrance fee is charged for adults and $3 for children 16 and
under.
