Ride the snowmobile trails or drive your vehicle to designated locations and collect cards for the best poker hand; register at 3-Mile Corner, Birch Island Resort, Corner Connection or at the Elk River Pioneer Picnic which starts at 11 a.m. Saturday at Russo’s Hill on Trail #80/#12 southwest of Wilson Lake or off Carpenter Creek Road. Everyone is invited to sit around the campfire or in the warming house and enjoy a brat or sandwich & snacks, warm up with some coffee or hot chocolate, or have cold one. There are 11 businesses participating in addition to the registration stops listed above. Entries must be turned in by 8 p.m. Saturday at Birch Island Resort, Bar & Grill on Wilson Lake. There will be refreshments and raffles while the hands are drawn. Look for posters at participating area businesses. This is a snowmobile club public event. Everyone is welcome to attend.
