Burlington Invitational Results

Burlington, WI -- April 30, 2011. The Burlington Conservation Club and the Burlington High School Trapshooting team were host to over fifty squads of young athletes this year in the Burlington Invitational Youth Trap Shoot. The two-day event followed the guidelines of the SCTP (Scholastic Clay Target Program) and was open to teams of school-age students in grades 12 and under.

The competition began at 4:30 Friday afternoon and by the end of the day on Saturday, 233 shooters from all over the state of Wisconsin had taken to the trap fields, nearly 70 more than last years event. While inclement weather threatened briefly on Saturday afternoon the rain stayed away and the shoot ended on time with awards being passed out by 7:00pm.

When all the results were tallied, the host team swept the podium earning all three team awards.

Ben Benton of Berlin was crowned Grand Champion with Ethan Kerr, Myles Walker and Jordan Hintz of Burlington earning the individual top-prizes. Alexa McCarthy of Burlington won both the high lady and high junior (grades 5-8) for her score of 89.
