Hunting Instructor Threatens to Quit if Hunting Bill Passes

The DNR, Wisconsin Wildlife Federation, and hunting clubs are backing a bill that would lower the hunting age to ten.
The mentoring bill that passed the Assembly and now awaits a vote in the Senate would let ten- and eleven-year-olds -- who are too young to get a hunting license -- to hunt with an adult mentor if they share a firearm.
Opponents all cite safety concerns, including some hunting safety instructors who argue a lower hunting age is a dangerous proposition. One instructor says he's ready to quit teaching out of protets if the bill passes.
