Chippewa Flowage Fishing report 9.1.11

Weather report

Sounds pretty mixed up for the weekend:  warmer earlier and cooling off for the second half of the weekend.  Scattered rain but not sounding real serious where your day will be messed up.

Water temperature

Still holding at around 70.

Water level

Still going down  It's at 1311.5 so it's a foot and a half down.
No problems but be aware.

Labor Day

Walleye:
Walleye fishing is still a bit of a challenge.  The water isn't cold
enough yet to go to minnows so your best bet is to stick with the
nightcrawlers.

Muskie:

Muskies are still moving around but showing no real preference for any one type of lure.  Fish the deep edges of the bars.

Crappie:
Crappie fishing still ok on the cribs on minnows.

Panfish:
Bluegill fishing is still pretty good in deeper water for the bigger
ones on nightcrawlers.

Bass:

Bass fishing is still ok--should start to slow a little as the water
cools off.  Spinnerbaits and nightcrawlers are still the best.
