WISCONSIN Off-Highway Motorcycle Association recently announced
The newly formed Board of Directors of the Wisconsin Off-Highway Motorcycle Association recently announced the formation of their organization following their NOHVCC Organization Meeting. The primary leaders from the OHM community in Wisconsin as well as AMA District 16, met in Wisconsin Dells on Saturday Dec. 6th to formally establish WOHMA to represent the OHM riders on issues of importance to them. They have seen what Wisconsin ATV and snowmobile riders have accomplished over the past decades and they aim to do the same for off-highway motorcyclists.

Joining them in the Dells were two very receptive folks from the DNR who have been in contact with OHM leaders for several years and understand their current position and what they aim to do. Also joining the WOHMA group at the Incorporation meeting were representatives from the other OHV groups in the state; WATVA (Wisconsin ATV Association), WOHVA (Wisconsin OHV Association), and the State Snowmobile Council.

WOHMA has been working the past two years on many issues affecting the off highway motorcyclists in the state; riding area zoning and property line sound issues, OHV park planning with the DNR, threats to close county and state trails, impacts from the US Forest Service Travel Management Rule, and gaining representation on state recreational councils. This workshop hosted by the NOHVCC in Wisconsin Dells was the means to get all of the interested parties together in one place and establish the new state OHM association. Says Alex Bub, the newly appointed President of WOHMA, "We look forward to working with all riders, clubs, associations, and state and federal entities in moving OHM recreational opportunities forward in the state" Bub is also the NOHVCC Wisconsin Partner.
