Chippewa Flowage fishing report 5.27.10

Walleye:
Starting to hear some reports of fish being caught in the weeds.  I'd
still start out in 17 ft--minnows still best.

Northern:
Northern fishing is still pretty good.  They're chasing some lures but
large minnows are still best.

Crappie:
Crappie are beginning to leave the shallows.  Some males still being
caught.  I haven't heard of any crib fishing yet.

Panfish:

Lots of bluegills still being caught in the shallows.  Waxies, worms and
Gulp are getting the most action.

Weather report

Sounds like a terrific holiday weekend coming.  Thurs, Fri and Sat sunny and around 80.  Cooler on Sunday with a chance of scattered showers and nice again on Monday.

Water level

Current level is about 1 ft 8ish inches down.  At least it's less than
two feet.

Water temperature

Temps seem to be generally in the upper 60's pushing 70 by the end of the day.

Musky season

Don't forget that Saturday is the muskie opener.
