Birds are dying of starvation in Minnesota
According to the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources, birds are dying from starvation in the Gopher State.
It appears late snowfalls have had a cruel effect on many species. According to a MDNR release earlier this week, insect-eating birds aren’t finding enough food and are starving to death.
Over the last week, Minnesota DNR managers and officers have received reports throughout the state of dead swallows, bluebirds, kinglets, sparrows, robins and warblers. All of these species are insect eaters, according to Carrol Henderson, DNR nongame wildlife program supervisor.
