Vehicle pulled from Poskin Lake
It took more than a day's work, but a truck that fell through the thin ice on Poskin Lake and plunged into an estimated 30 feet of water was finally retrieved from the frigid depths midday Saturday.
As reported earlier, the ordeal began Dec. 16 when a truck owned by 53-year-old Ricki Lambert of Barron broke through the ice while he was attempting to go ice fishing on Poskin Lake. Lambert was rescued within approximately 10 minutes, but his truck remained underwater.
With the prospect of DNR fines looming on the horizon, Lambert hired Becker's Wrecker Service of Poskin to pull his truck out of the lake. Becker's, in turn, solicited help from Jerry's Towing of Chetek for the job.
The extraction process then began at 8 Friday morning.
