Use of crossbows during Michigan deer season expanded

LANSING -- The door is now officially open. Able-bodied hunters, 50 years and older, can hunt with crossbow next fall during the early bowhunting deer season.

Much to the surprise of traditional bowhunters, who opposed the move, and much to the dismay of some who supported it, the state Natural Resources Commission on Thursday moved to expand the use of crossbows for hunting in Michigan.
