BASE: 10-22 inches
PAST 24 Hrs:
CONDITION: Excellent [Click for St. Ignace Michigan Forecast] [Michigan Snowmobile Trails]
Here are the snowmobile trail conditions as of December 23, 2008 in the St. Ignace area. Straits area received a ton of snow over the weekend. between 6-12" depending on where you were at. The start was very light lake effect, then shifted to a much heavier system snow. The result, is that at least 4" of snow has been added to the already good base. All trails are receiving limited grooms at this point in time, with both groomers running a limited schedule. We are seeing very light traffic, and the current grooming is certainly keeping up with the trails. There are reports of handrails being down on 2 bridges. One just North or Brevort, that should be fixed by now, and the other is somewhere on the RR Grade North of Moran. So, please be on the lookout until it is repaired. Things look great around here, so make your holiday reservations today! Information provided by the Straits Area Snowmobile Club.
