Snow Condition Report --Posted on Tuesday, February 10 2009

The weather is changing rapidly and we are expected to receive snow mixed with rain. Later in the week we are expecting snow.

EXCELLENT TRAIL CONDITIONS --Posted on Friday, February 6 2009

The trails have held up remarkably well considering the traffic we had last weekend. The alliance has more grooming equipment than anyone else in the world and we could not keep up last Saturday. The temperatures were in the mid thirties and we have to be careful to not do more damage to the trails than good when grooming.

This weekend is going to be another great time for sledders! The temps are going to be in the teens at night and the thirties during the day with light snow Friday and Saturday. We predict the trails activity based on our rentals and all of them will be out again.

The trails are still in excellent condition but are starting to get thin on some of the hill tops. We are expecting more snow next week in time for Valentines weekend. This again will be a great weekend considering all the areas activity like the “Walleyes for Northwest Wisconsin’s Ice Fishing Tournament” (over 1500 fishermen) on Lac Courte Oreilles, DJ’s Dock Chili Contest on Round Lake and Drummonds “Bar Stool” races, all on Saturday the 14th. All of these events are on the snowmobile trails so come up and have a sweetheart of a time!!

The Sawyer County Snowmobile and ATV alliance is the Worlds largest single owner of trail grooming equipment and we're putting it all to good use this year. Come visit our over 600 miles of excellent snowmobile and ATV trails!
