Ten-year-olds may soon be able to go hunting in Wisconsin

Ten-year-olds would be able to go hunting in Wisconsin as long as they’re accompanied by an adult under a measure that cleared the Wisconsin State Senate Tuesday.

The younger hunters would be required to stay within an arm’s length of their mentors. The pair would only be allowed to carry one gun between them. Advocates say it will help pass on Wisconsin’s tradition of hunting to a younger generation. Senate Democratic Majority Leader Russ Decker - himself a hunter - was among the plan’s sponsors.
