Cross-country ski pass benefits trails system (December 4, 2007)

State law requires skiers to purchase and possess either a daily, annual or three-year pass before using any grant-in-aid and state-operated cross-country ski trails this winter. All money raised from the sale of cross-country ski passes directly supports 1,800 miles of designated cross-country ski trails throughout Minnesota, according to the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources (DNR). DNR expands deer season in bovine TB zone, plans sharpshooting (December 4, 2007)

Hunters may use any valid deer license to harvest deer from Dec. 29 to Jan. 13, 2008, in Permit Area 101 of northwestern Minnesota to help reduce herd density and assist wildlife management officials in their efforts to stop the potential spread of bovine tuberculosis (TB).
