Whitetail Deer / Muzzleloaders
« on: September 02, 2009, 10:34:51 AM »
I just heard that they are going to allow maginyfied scopes this year for muzzleloader season.  I haven't seen it anywhere, but thought I'd ask here since the last time I asked a question on here my answer was posted on the DNR website.

I have one problem with the youth hunt.  I believe it should be for those who have not yet harvested an animal yet.  Don't get me wrong, but I'm tired of seeing the same kids in the paper year after year with big bucks gotten during the youth hunt.  I don't believe that is the reason for the youth hunt.  It should be for introducing the youth's to the sport and not a reason for kids already hunting to get an unfair advantage to harvest a big deer.

Sorry about the vent I do appreciate what you are doing for us.

:) That's a lot of information you have gathered.  I am very impressed and I hope somebody in the DNR see's and uses it.  I agree that they are not going to be happy until they have the deer herd down to the 700,000.

I think we are going to be seeing this even more now that they are saying there are 590 wolves in the state.

I don't believe so.  You just find them in their home range, but not to mark their terrritory.

I started reading this and thought it was going to be something about the feeding the elk, but it turns out that Mr. Remington doesn't like that we have elk in Wi.  I tend to agree with him.  What will they do lnext if they get the feeding stop and elk are still being hit by cars?  Maybe we should have auto manufactures put the recievers in cars so we will know where the elk are at so we can get closer to them.  lol

Whitetail Deer / Re: Baiting
« on: February 05, 2007, 06:20:01 AM »
I think they could "tweak" it some.  The DNR is worried about the pile congregating the deer so why not make the law no pile.  Same amount of bait but you have to spread it out.  This would make the deer graze for the bait just like they do in my food plots.

Just a thought.
